Request for support to build a children’s care center (orphanage ) in Fukushima

The Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11, 2011, has brought about significant damage in Japanese society, mainly in the Tohoku areas.

People are now striving to reconstruct the disaster-damaged regions, but there is a long road ahead before they can achieve this goal, so continuous support is required for rehabilitation.

Especially, Fukushima in the Tohoku areas not only suffered from the earthquake and tsunami, but it has also been the area most affected by the nuclear disaster which was a result of the accident at the Fukushima nuclear power plant.

The disaster’s problems have not yet resolved, so people are forced to live with an uneasy feeling. Growing and raising children have so many worries; they are hurt, their physical condition is damaged by the radiation leak, and their home environment has gotten worse due to unemployment. They need a better environment to make a safe, peaceful, and joyful living situation.

As of today, a social welfare association called “Mustard Seed” plans to build a children’s care center (orphanage) in Koriyama City, Fukushima.

On March 18, 2013, we purchased measuring land 703 ㎡ (212.65 tsubo) for building a children’s care center by the fundraising of 35,775,179 yen (not including real estate acquisition tax.) It is located in 611 1-chome, Koriyama City, Fukushima. We really appreciate your support.

For the next stage, we estimate that it will cost about one hundred forty million yen for making a design, construction, the initial cost and so on. We will be continually fundraising and accepting donations to meet the estimated cost. The contribution will be helpful to build a children’s care center by “Mustard Seed” through our office.

We feel that the Lord’s hand is on this plan, so we expect that He will perform a miracle. Please join us for this work of God through your prayers and support.

(*There are 240 orphans who lost both of their parents and another 1,360 children who lost one of their parents in the Tohoku Earthquake, as of February 14, 2012.)

A social welfare association bought the land in Koriyama City, Fukushima and made a contract on March 18th, 2013.

“Mustard Seed” plans to build a small-sized family home that accommodates up to twelve children. We bought the land, and we are to design and build the children’s care center. As of today, it will cost about 8,505,000 yen.
