A mole on the face!
Is it skin cancer?

Lost the blue-faced mole

A mole on the face completely disappeared.

It was about a year ago when I noticed a mole on my wife's face. "She did not have a mole in such a place before. I wonder when it has developed?" My wife was also wondering about it. It looked growing little by little, and finally became like a wart. Just when I started to worry about it, I saw a TV program entitled 'Family Medical Information to be taken seriously' about moles on the face which turned out to be skin cancer.

They said in the program that the part of the face five centimeters round the mole needs to be excised in order to prevent the cancer to metastasize, and that if you see the shape of a mole(size, color, form) changed, you need to consult a specialist as it may be skin cancer.

Come to think about it, the mole on my wife's face did appear changed in color and shape from the time when I first noticed it. I suggested that she should go see a doctor right away, but she refused to do so. If it was cancerous, the hospitalization and medical treatment would cost a lot, she said.

God is our insurance
Jesus is our security

We had cancelled all the insurances, including those against cancer, life and others arranged from youth in our long-lasting financial ordeals. I did worry that it might become too late to be treated if she did not go see a doctor right away, but we decided to pray and see how things progress.

After we had given up all the insurances, those for life and against fire included, we made a password for ourselves. "God Himself is our insurance, Jesus is our security. We have neither fear nor anxiety."

If it is cancerous, her right eye and right ear need to be excised together with the mole.

In our church, it was our practice to pray for healing for five people every week. We would pray for the mole(wart) after praying for five people.

Being a pastor, I and my wife had met a number of people suffering from terminal cancer and saw their anxiety and pain as well as the burden their families had to carry. We even saw some people off to Heaven.

Ever since the early years of her adulthood, whenever my wife was screened for cancer, should it be of breast, stomach, lung or uterus, she was told to have thorough examinations.
Even today, she undergoes a cell cultivation test once every three to six months. I thought the cancer was now taking hold of her on the face.

Her mole developed between the right eye and right ear. In case it was skin cancer, both of them would need to be excised together with the mole(wart).

I visualize her without the right eye and right ear, but felt certain that she would never lose her life because of that cancer. She would hide the mole behind her hair and keep praying without saying a word about it to anyone whosoever.

The mole(wart) came off.

One day in March, that mole(wart) suddenly came off her face, and we saw the hollow surface of the skin bleeding a little. We gave a prayer of gratitude with our hands on the scar, hoping never to see another one there again.

March went by, so did April, and yet there was no sign of a mole developing on the same spot. It seemed unreal that there used to be a growing blackish wart there.

She told me afterwards that she would put her hand on the wart, pray in the name of Jesus Christ and command it to be healed every day.

What encouraged and enheartened us. The Word of God and thanksgiving

After having triumphed in the battle of faith, my wife said feelingly that when she let go of all the things of this world upon which she were dependant, she was able to come to God face to face and submit herself to Him completely. We had absolutely nothing. The only thing we had was the word of God. We had our back against the wall.

We had another thing which encouraged and enheartened us. A song Rev. Merlyn Carothers taught us when he came to Fukuoka.

“God is working for our good, for our good, for our good,
God is working for our good, yes He really is.

Jesus is working for our good, for our good, for our good,
Jesus is working for our good, yes He really is.

Holy Spirit is working for our good, for our good, for our good,
Holy Spirit is working for our good, yes He really is.”

(to the tune of "Mary had a little lamb")

My wife and I sing this song every time we pray.

No sooner had my wife thought a wart had come off, than another one developed on the same spot. She watched it gradually change its color and shape as it kept redeveloping, but she kept grasping the promise of the Lord, "I will heal you in My Time." and kept believing in it.

We praise from our heart the Lord who is ever so truthful.
