I am Nakano, and I join Uganda team this time.
It is my first time to go Africa except Cairo of Egypt. There are my friends and people concerned with my church in the country locates around Uganda like Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, South Africa, Nigeria, Zambia, Ghana, Eritrea and some more. But I never thought I was step in to the land of Africa this year.

Do you know Watoto children’s choir?
It is the gospel choir of orphans of Uganda. They had come to Japan too! Watoto means children in Swahili.
Paved road

It is about 340km from the capital city Kampala to Gulu. Main roads are paved, so it takes about 5 hours to get there. In developing countries amount of importing cars is large number, and preparation of roads doesn’t catch up the needs, so streets are tend to get choked. May the Lord protect us not get into traffic congestion.

He investigated Africa from 1813 to 1873. He served as a medical missionary.
Reasons why England started the mission to Uganda, to rescue Livigstone was one of them.

Luweero District
Irish missionary Ian Clark. He worked for 5 years as a medical missionary in Luweero District where known as killing field of Uganda. He himself had cancer, and he suffered hard treatment and recovered. God still had a mission for him.
They are the words of Mr. Clark.

What is LRA

In 1987, Joseph Kony joined Holy spirit movement led by spirit-medium Alice Auma, LRA (Lord’s Resistance Army) has organized by Joseph Kony.
He was born in Gulu District, he is in action in north part of Uganda. LRA kidnaps young boys and girls, demand those children to kill their family members. After that they make boys to soldiers, or they force children to become a prostitute. LRA is now the focus of criticism of international society.

When I went to be vaccinated against yellow fever.
I took picture of an insect repellent medicine which quarantine station staff who came from Sendai recommended, which is too strong to be sold in Japan.
I thought I would use it with team members, so I send away for the medicine from Australia right away. (One on the left of 80％ Deet. In Japan 16% at most)
