Who is God?
God is our Creator.
God created the heavens, the earth and us.
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." <Genesis 1:1>
"And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being." <Genesis 2:7>
God created human being for His own glory.
"Everyone who is called by My name, whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him." <Isaiah 43:7>
Man was created in the likeness of God.
"Then God said, 'Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.' So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them." <Genesis 1:26-27>
God is one.
God the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ) and the Holy Spirit, each having a person, are one in substance and purpose, and are still living and working in perfect harmony with one another. This triune God is only one God who should be worshiped.
"Therefore know this day, and consider it in your heart, that the Lord Himself is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; there is no other." <Deuteronomy 4:39>
"I am the Lord, and there is no other; there is no God besides Me. I will gird you, though you have not known Me, that they may know from the rising of the sun to its setting that there is none besides Me. I am the Lord, and there is no other." <Isaiah 45:5-6>
God is love.
God loves each one of us and wants us to come to Him.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." <John 3:16>
God is going to give us the best life.
"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." <Romans 8:28>
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning." <James 1:17>
